[EDIT]: Natty (11.04) supported.
[EDIT2]: Oneiric (11.10) supported, not tested.
[EDIT3]: Prerice (12.04) supported, not tested.

I made my own Ubuntu PPA (Maverick, Lucid, and Karmic) for ManiaDrive. Generally speaking it is not safer than any random download place on the Web.

At least anybody can use this packeting for making even better way to release ManiaDrive.

It is ManiaDrive-1.2r1043 with these modifications:
-(Karmic-version) workaround for configuring: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=2188
-Kids-mode: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=2190
-Starting game from editor (using PATH): viewtopic.php?f=7&t=2189
-Ugly icons: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=2191

Additional info:
-Installs to /opt/maniadrive
-Contains whole raydium-library (including rayphp)
-Doesn't contain any data, which is loadable during game
-Home directory is ~/.mania_drive/
-No file mania_score.php (not uploading track-records)

Hi,

Sadly, the correct option is not to "pack" our old binaries into a ppa: we must setup and compile the game+engine for every new Ubuntu release. It requires quite some work, and currently, no one seems to be interested by this task (but it has been done in the past).

And, sadly, again, we've not enough resources internally to do this by ourselves.

PPA mentioned in first post has now deb for 12.04 (Precise) too. It might have problem with texture of car (or it could be temporarily data downloading issue).
