"i think do you are talking about this" -> You're right, Totoro using using a recent version of freeglut and fullscreen was failing. The new fix only detect this and force windowed mode. What is your problem with fullscreen ? "freeglut (./test): failed to change screen settings" too ?

I have two monitors. When i start the game, the second monitor shutdown (as usual in fullscren mode) but the first monitor anly change the resolution but if doesn't enter in real fullscreen mode, just change que size, and y can see the border of the windows and so.
update:
I have read the is a know problem as "moving screen fullscreen-mode bug". The problem is that the most linux distros have glut and not freeglut, and altough they should be 100% compatibles, they are not.
So, debian Sarge comes with Glut and not freeglut, and that could be the problem.
Anyway, as long as i read, glut and freeglut are not recomended to make serious apps, since they are not optimized and its perfomance is quite low.
new update:
I have installed in debian sarge:
freeglut2 2.2.0-8
freeglut3-dev 2.2.0-8
glutg3-dev 3.7-25
libglut3 3.7-25
libglut3-dev 3.7-25
Finally i have seen that libglut3 has been officially replaced(in debian) for freeglut3.

Just a little thing : the problem with glut/freeglut and "serious apps" is not performance or speed, since glut is only responsible of window creation and input device feedback (keyboard and mouse) of only its very limited set of features ! That's why i'm planning to switch to OpenGLUT, since it provides much more features (full keyboard state, better fullscreen management, ...)
