Can i get the sum of all forces applied to an object?
For example:
Imagine a wood box compound of box pieces. Now you put a heavy box over it. The wood box suffer a certain force but it still remains as is. If you put a lot of heavy boxes over it, the wood box should break but it doesn't happen in Raydium/ODE.
So if i get the sum of all forces applied to a certain object i could check if it is bigger than a value and if so then the object can break or explode or something.

Hello,

You have to get this info directly from ode body.

If my memory is right you have such field in body structure.

it's probably facc field (force accumulator).

I never test it further.

Have a nice day
Ouille.

I'll try. However ODE people have told me that force accumulator won't help me... Example.
One car (object) into a mechanical press (2 objects at both sides of the car). When the press is started the 2 pieces press against the car. If each piece apply a force of 100 raydium units as they are oppossite the resulting force is 0 (100-100).
They told something about checking dJointSetFeedback on each contact joint ???

Hello,

Exact but only if you use joint.

I give the answer for the standalone box. But you are probably right, other box force are probably nullified by ground force. So after iteration facc will probably be 0.

So .... i don't know. Use dummy joint, with soft constraints to get joint force feedback?

Need perhaps to go deeper in ode stepper ???

:? sorry :?

Have a nice day.
