 Post subject: INSTALL Problem

i am a new students in university,
i am a new person for linux,
i am a new person for english,

i need some help :
when i input ./configure to config Raydium,
there is a prompt as follow

* ODE (local) : not found
ODE is not installed (ODE must be local). Try --install-ode !

but i have installed ode-0.5(i do not know where it has installed!where?)

what is the mean of "local" ?
/usr/local? or /home/[username]/local?
if you know,please help me as soon as possible

local means that you must have one ODE folder(with the ODE sources) in the raydium folder. Raydium compiler doesn't worry if you already have ODE installed in your system, it just seeks for ODE in the ODE folder, inside raydium.
But don't worry, raydium compile script will install this ODE folder for you, simply you should launch:

configure --install-ode

thanks very much for your help!

but another problem as follow:

mxc@mxc-laptop:~/桌面/raydium-2005-09-21$ ./configure --install-ode
ODE Auto local installation ...
Downloading from CVS ...
./configure: 163: cvs: not found
No cvs client installed ?

the machine's system that i want to install Raydium can not get on the Internet,
can the problem be solve?

You should download the CVS packages for your system in other computer.
For example if your system is ubuntu you can take a look here:
http://packages.ubuntu.com/dapper/cvs (changing dapper for your version)
Then download the needed packages. move them to the offline computer (via pendrive, for example) and finally install them in dependency order.

The problem here is that you use a very outdated version of Raydium. Do not use stable version, and download the nightly SVN package, it will download/compile ODE and PHP automatically (and a huge bunch of features).
