Hi forum,

As far as I remembered, I once saw my car blue. However, now my car is red. My son kept asking me if I could change my car's color to blue again, but I could not find how. Could you please tell me how to change my car color, or is it possible?

I'm using Maniadrive 1.2.

Thanks,
Franklin

You earn the "sport" blue Clio with shiny alloy wheels when you finish the game (ie: every track of "Pro mode" completed).

I was able to get the blue car by making a simple file switch.
In the \ManiaDrive-1.2-build\game folder, there are two files: car00.tga and car40.tga. The first file [car00.tga] is the information for the red car, and the second file [car40.tga] is the blue car.
Basically, make a name switch on these two files and you can achieve the blue car while you try to finish the game.

directions:
1) Make a backup copy of both files. Name the backup copies something like 'car00.tga.bak' and 'car40.tga.bak'
2) Rename file car00.tga to something like 'car00a.tga'
3) Then make the name changes: change the original 'car40.tga' file to 'car00.tga'
4) Then change your 'car00a.tga' to 'car40.tga'.

Now the blue car information is in the file name car00.tga, and the red is in the car40.tga file.

Of course, if your files get messed up or you want the red car back, delete the modified car00.tga and car40.tga files, and revert your .bak files to the original .tga file extension.

Hope that helps,
-Drumondd

Actually, that is only the texture file...
the actual 'blue' car has a different 3D model, (aka it's a different shape)

But for what you want, yes it works. :)
