I've been playing with the mania_drive and raydium source, and I was wondering if maybe raydium should allow people to manually set ode object's mu property in the same way it allows the user to set the slip properties? (for friction, in ode.c line 4311).

The mu property introduces another style of friction (static friction), which I think ideally is supposed to work together with a little bit of slip. Although I havn't really been able to figure it out completely. Having mu gives mania drive a little bit more realism in some areas, but it does some funny things in other areas. And I think having realistic physics isn't necessarily better.

Maybe Raydium could default to mu=dinfinity, as it is now, but if mu is set it could use the average mu's of any two colliding objects, in the same way it averages the slip values?

Well ... a patch adding this feature would be accepted easily :)
