Hi, i just found this game and decided to try out my old steering wheel that was collecting dust.

Good news is it's a great game! Bad news is i can't make the jump in the Big Jump level because i can't accelerate fast enough using the pedals, if i disable the wheel&pedals and accelerate with the keyboard it's not a problem.

So i think it's either:
  • My pedals need to be calibrated - is this supported? how can i do this?
  • You give speed penalty to players with wheel&pedals :(

Hello,

How does a pedal/sterring system compare to Joysticks? Joysticks are not supported inside Raydium, I beleave.

Maybe installing most updated drivers/software will help with your issue? (Find those on the manufacturers website that made your pedal/steering system.)

Have a nice day.

Hello,

Sorry but joystick are supported by raydium on both linux and windows.

Calibration is not handled by raydium.

Try to calibrate your system for the system wide, and it will be ok for raydium (hope so).

Have a nice day
Ouille.

Small tip 1: "official" win32 1.2 release of ManiaDrive does not provide joystick support (Raydium version is too old). Linux release do.

Small tip 2: You can calibrate your stick/pad under Linux with "jscal" command line tools. KDE also provide a calibration tool somewhere in Kcontrol. No idea with Gnome :)

Using Gnome and the Joystick Calibration, my joysticks do not work in Maniadrive.

I have a Logitech dual analog 10 button and a Tremon standard 10 button joystick and maniadrive cannot use either one.

They calibrate fine, and they work fine in all the other linux software, though.

The trouble is probably about device name. Raydium tries /dev/js0 and then /dev/input/js0, but some distributions will use some other filenames. If you know the path to your device, you can use the --joydev command line switch to provide it.

Which distrib do you use ?
Please, can you also post the console output of the game (the part about joysticks) ?

Using ubuntu 9.04.

Raydium: /dev/input/event0: cannot open (rw), no Force Feedback.
Raydium: joy: FAILED (cannot open /dev/js0 and /dev/input/js0)

The calibration software says its using /dev/input/js0

Can you show us what a "ls -l /dev/input/js0" looks like ?
